Ad-Hoc Committees
Chair, Secretary, and DSC elected member(s)
These committees address specific issues of concern to the DSC. The formation of an Ad-Hoc Committee requires approval from the DSC and are reviewed after six months to determine its ongoing continuation.
Bylaws Committee
Committee Chair, Secretary, and DSC elected member(s)
Responsible for reviewing DSC’s bylaws and recommending changes for consideration by the DSC for amendment. The committee also oversees the implementation of and adherence to the bylaws in collaboration with the Archivist. The bylaws are reviewed at least annually by the committee.
Communications Committee
Chair, Secretary, and DSC elected member(s)
Responsible for creating and maintaining the DSC website and updating all DSC social media platforms. The committee also develops brand materials for distribution to the broader WashU community.
Community Engagement Committee

Responsible for exploring how WashU can better engage with both the internal WashU community and the broader St. Louis community, as well as identifying the roles that staff and the DSC can play in these efforts.
Elected Officers Committee
Executive Committee and Chairs of Bylaws, Communications, Community Engagement, Events, Nominations and Human Resources committees
Comprised of the Executive Committee and the chairs of each DSC committee. The committee meets regularly before each full Danforth Staff Council meeting.
Events Committee
Committee Chair, Secretary, and DSC elected member(s)
Responsible for planning the DSC Forum each semester in collaboration with the Elected Officers Committee. The committee also manages new member orientation, recognizes outgoing members, and fosters community building within the Council.
Executive Committee
Chair, Co-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, and Archivist
Responsible for meeting with the Executive Vice Chancellor for Administration and other senior university leaders as needed to discuss important matters and ideas raised by staff members. The committee holds monthly DSC meetings, collaborates with other committees to address staff needs and requests, and sets the meeting agenda to be shared with the Executive Vice Chancellor for Administration and DSC members.
Human Resources Committee

Responsible for meeting regularly with Human Resources managers to discuss staff needs and concerns and for communicating meeting outcomes to the DSC. Committee members are knowledgeable about the WashU employee handbook and the rights, privileges, and responsibilities of all staff members. The committee is also well-versed in the resources and benefits available to staff.
Nominations Committee
Committee Chair, Secretary, and DSC elected member(s)
Responsible for soliciting and collecting annual nominations for new DSC members from all Danforth staff. The committee reviews applications, collaborates with Human Resources to verify applicant eligibility, and recommends selections to the DSC. Final selection results are announced to Danforth staff, Human Resources, and senior administration. The committee is also responsible for managing nominations for all DSC Executive Committee and chair positions
