Laura Barker

Assistant to the Chair, Department of Mechanical Engineering

Laura joined WashU in 2008 as an administrative assistant in the Dean of the Faculty of Arts & Sciences office. From there she moved to the Department of Mechanical Engineering, where she has served as the Assistant to the Chair since 2012. Laura attended Southwest Baptist University, where she was the copy editor for the school newspaper, The Omnibus. She graduated in 2004 with a BA in English. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her family, often watching her son play baseball or her daughter perform gymnastics. In the summer, you can find her on her family’s pontoon boat at the lake.
